Hi All,

Tried to install Mojave couple of times, and success is being made. in the installer menu I create one HFS partition, and Mojave creates a 'container' in that HFS partition for a 'new' device and inside that creates its APFS stuff...

I'd rather stick to the good old HFS partition and there are various methods (like High Sierra installer's switches).

So what's the latest buzz? How can I keep my Mojave on HFS? Do I need patches, EFI or kext or terminal install switches?

Many thanks in advance

you can use HFS+ partition:
(1) clone the apfs drive
- install Mojave to a new drive
- clone the drive with carbon disk cloner
(2) restore the apfs copy to the HFS+ formatted drive
- format the destination drive to HFS+
- use carbon disk cloner, restore the backup image to the HFS+ drive

note : you cannot install the macOS update on a HFS+ drive, the update program refused to apply the update on non-apfs drive.
