Hi All,

Recently i discovered, that my hackintosh-motherboard (Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi (rev 1.0)) supports a total of 128GB RAM instead of 64GB.
Therefore i bought 2x32GB Corsair DDR4 3200MHz RAM-Moduls to upgrade. At the moment i have installed 2x32GB Corsair 3200MHz + 2x16GB Corsair 3000MHz.

After installing all the modules my computer seems to get stuck at the bootloader and heads back to rebooting.

I've upgraded the BIOs of Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi to the latest Verision "F12", but couldnt figure out what setting i messed up. here is what i changed from Load optimized defaults:

Windows 8/10 Features: Windows 8/10 -> Other OS
XHCI Hand-off: Disabled -> Enabled
Internal Graphics: Auto -> Disabled
RC6(Ender Standby): Enabled -> Disabled
CPU Fan Control Mode: Auto -> PWM
Extreme Memory Profil (X.M.P): Disabled -> Profil1
System Memory Multiplier: Auto -> DDR4300

Attached you'll also find my EFI-Folder as .zip. Maybe the bug is in there.

As always thank you for your support!

Best, othernoise

I would try with XMP disabled.

thank you for replying quickly!

i disabled XMP but still no luck. Any other ideas?

I can't think of any... I thought that conflicting RAM timings from two different sets of RAM was the cause...

Try running with just he new set of RAM to make sure they are working correctly.

ok i installed the new set of RAM according to the Gigabyte Guidelines.

Unfortunately in the BIOS it reads the amount of RAM correctly, but same result is happening.

Did I do the system memory multiplier wrong? i has to be set according to the speed of the RAM-module right?

What system memory multiplier?

System Memory Multiplier: Auto -> DDR4300
This multiplier is probably too high. Not sure it is required when XMP profile is enabled.

Set the board to optimised defaults, make the changes listed below. Then try with just the new RAM installed and see if you can boot the system.

Change the following settings:
  1. Virtualization : Enabled
  2. VT-d : Disabled
  3. XHCI Hand-Off : Enabled
  4. Legacy USB Support: Auto/Enabled
  5. IO SerialPort : Disabled
  6. Network Stack : Disabled
  7. XMP Profile : Auto / Profile 1/Enabled
  8. UEFI Booting set to Enabled and set Priority over Legacy
  9. Secure Boot : Disabled
  10. Fast Boot : Disabled
  11. OS Type: Other OS
  12. Wake on LAN : Disabled
Dedicated Graphics + Integrated graphics card:
  1. Integrated Graphics : Enabled
  2. Graphics: PEG/PCIe Slot 1
  3. Initial Display Output : PCIe 1 Slot
  4. DVMT Pre-Allocated : 128M or higher
Then see if the old RAM works with the new.

thank you very much for replying!

right now i have upgraded my BIOS to Gigabytes latest version F12:
i have trouble finding the following changes:

  1. Virtualization : Enabled
  2. IO SerialPort : Disabled
  3. Secure Boot : Disabled

Dedicated Graphics + Integrated graphics card:
  1. Graphics: PEG/PCIe Slot 1
  2. DVMT Pre-Allocated : 128M or higher

Where can i find those settings in the F12 update? Probably they changed names.

You may need to use the 'Classic' Bios mode to find all the Bios options. This is accessed by pressing the F2 key, after entering the bios.

In the UEFI bios the three items with Bold text are the options I could find, as shown by the motherboard user manual. So the Tab is listed first, followed by the sub-menu item(s)
  1. Secure Boot : Disabled - BIOS > Secure Boot
  2. Graphics: PEG/PCIe Slot 1 - Peripherals > Initial Display Output
  3. DVMT Pre-Allocated : 128M or higher - Chipset > DVMT Pre-Allocated or DVMT Total Gfx Mem
These two I couldn't find in the UEFI bios, but they will be present and probably found easily in the Classic Bios screens.
  • Virtualization : Enabled
  • IO SerialPort : Disabled
Virtualization, which is different to VT-d, will usually be enabled by default, so not something to worry about. But so will the IO SerialPort, which isn't so good.

Thanks again for replying.

Until yesterday i used the F9-Version of Gigabyte BIOS. Problem is i updated and in Version F12 of the Gigabyte BIOS, Peripherals & Chipset-Menu has been renamed or placed in another location i can't find. i could find all change besides the changes mentioned above.

Do you now where they are in the F12 update?

btw: is it possible to downgrade the BIOS back to Version F9?
