Mic recommendations?

For the last 8 years my only mic for vent/ts/mumble has been an external firewire iSight - my new hackintosh build no longer has any FW ports. Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent mic that will work well in both Win 7 and OS X (10.6.8) environments?

Looking for relatively simple but reliable non-wireless options, doesn't necessarily have to be headset style that work without a hassle. Unless of course a FW card (that works under both systems) would actually be cheaper than a decent mic.....

Can I suggest shouting yourself a new webcam combo, I picked up a logitech c910 hd cam with stereo mic for about half price on the web > everyone I FaceTime and Skype with comments how good the sound and picture is - should last a few builds making it worth the money.
