Hi,
So while I was trying to fix my graphics issues I messed up a setting somewhere along the way and am unable to boot back into SL, gets stuck at Apple gray loading screen and I have to turn off PSU to power computer off. But this is not why I am in this section, I have some stuff to try when I get home.

I'm here because in my late night trying to fix the above I decided to just reinstall SL and start from scratch. So I removed my memory just to 4gigs and booted with iBoot when I got to chameleon screen I put in SL DvD and hit f5, I then chose SL install DVD and after several minutes I get this:
Memory allocation error: addr=0x0, size=0x8002770, file=device_inject.c, line=246
This is a nonrecoverable error! System halted!

I am using the same ram stick I did the initial install with because its under the CPU cooler but I am wondering if because the SSD has an OS on it that's what is giving me a hard time.

The crappy thing is I have the whole system on TimeMachine but I can't seem to access it because I can't get into SL lol. So any ideas on that code above? I googled the line and all I got was from another post I have in the Graphics section that I have mentioned what I got going on.

Thanks
Edit: Was able to reformat SSD and reinstall OSX following Notshy's guide, all is working great!!

Re: Memory allocation error: addr=0x0, size=0x8002770, file=devi

Something falling over in the Device Properties injection part of Chameleon.
Possible graphics injection.
Try booting with typing: GraphicsEnabler=No -v
at the boot screen.
Of course, that might mean no working graphics....but if you get further then that's a start..

Thanks for the response!
I will give that a run in a bit when I get home!

Again thanks!

Didn't work, got my hands on a fresh HDD with nothing on it. Going to do new install :/

Re: Memory allocation error: addr=0x0, [[SOLVED]]

Sorry to Bump this but I am unable to now fix this!
The last time I did I started a fresh new install with a new HDD and when I got to the Disk Utilities part I swapped my SSD back in and installed on that again and it worked.
Now though I am having a graphics card issue from trying to update my DSDT for my 6870 and had an epic fail. So now I tried to get into SL Install for my time machine and I get the error again. This time I am unable to start with the HDD because that is my Time Machine back up.

Please Obi Wan your my only hope.

Can you not boot using iBoot CD?

Run memtest+ on the remaining ram and see what you come up with.

On all three sticks? (because I tried all three and got the same message)

You can run memtest on 1 dimm in slot 1 and make sure it is OK, swap it out for next dimm and repeat until all are tested or put all in and do it in one go. If you choose the all-in-one route and one is bad you have to do it one at a time anyway to find the bad dimm. Your choice, though. If all turn up bad though, I would suspect a bad slot in the mobo.
