Hello,

I have windows installed on my hard drive,
I prepared Hackintosh USB using the following guide:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

and now I would like to install Mavericks next to my windows (separate partition, I guess),
and define a dual boot menu, that after restart I will be able to select if I want to load Mac or Win.

If possible I would prefer not to delete my existing Win (and reinstall it after Mavericks).

Can it be done?
I would really appreciate a link to such a guide.

Thanks!

Did you remember to disable Secure Boot in BIOS before installing Win8? Did you disable UEFI booting before installing Win8? If the answer to either of these is no, then you will have to reinstall Windows in order to boot with Chimera/Chameleon boot loader.
Regardless, if you did not first format the HDD as in http://www.tonymacx86.com/multi-booting/96000-guide-dual-booting-mountain-lion-windows-8-a.html for installing on the same drive, then you will not be able to install OS X on the same drive with Windows - best to get another SSD/HDD to install OS X on.

1. I don't have anything call "Secure Boot" in my BIOS - what does it means?
2. How do I disable UEFI booting?
3. I didn't format my HDD in any special way, but I guess I an just create another partition for OS X, right?

1-2 You may not have a UEFI BIOS so that would not apply to you.
3. Wrong if your drive is formatted as a MBR instead of GPT you will not be able to install OS X even if you split the drive into two partitions. It has to formatted correctly and that means GPT or OS X will not boot.

As recommended I would get a second HDD or SSD and put OS X on that instead of trying to multi-partition your only drive and loose everything.

And the last thing have you checked to make sure that all of your hardware is even compatible with Mavericks in the first place?

All new mainboards have to have the ability to disable SecureBoot, just as they must have the option to enable it if the manufacturer wants to be able to advertize it as Windows compatible. This is part of Microsofts requirements.
SecureBoot is a BIOS setting that will not allow anything but the Win7/8 boot manager to run during booting - supposedly to prevent any malware resident in your BIOS to boot along with Windows.
If you install Win8 with SecureBoot enabled, no other OS will be able to boot on that computer.

There is a setting in BIOS that allows you to set CSM support to Legacy only, Legacy + UEFI and to UEFI only booting.

You must use GUID partition tables for the HDD/SSD to install OS X and fromat the partition Mac OS Extended (Journaled) for your Mavericks to install.

for some BIOS like gigabyte, it will not be called secure boot. It will be something like what OS you are running. Others or windows 8. Default is others so if you haven't done anything to that it will be that.

to check whether your win8 is installed without UEFI. Change your booting to legacy only. Then choose to boot from your bootup drive. If it works then you are good to go.

BTW, you are using what motherboard or is it laptop?
