Mavericks Upgrade?

I have a hackintosh with 10.8.5 installed currently. I've backup everything but I was wondering if I can install mavericks over top of this and still have my data? Thanks

I just did an ' upgrade ' over my production hackintosh machine from 10.8.5 -> 10.9.

Things went fine for me.

I did a clean install and then restored from a time machine backup. It worked flawlessly.
