Haswell early reboot, Mavericks, locked MSRs, and HP Envy 15-J063CL (i7-4700MQ)

It would just boot as Chimera

Haswell early reboot, Mavericks, locked MSRs, and HP Envy 15-J063CL (i7-4700MQ)

It would boot as the screen with the chimera boot logo (Apple with eyes) and reject the flag "GraphicsEnabler=n".
I ended up continuing along with "GraphicsEnabler=No" and it puts me back on the exact same screen as the previous image.
Only this time, it's short 1 line. (Only has 1 USBMSC Identifier...... line)

EDIT: Btw, this is solely running on the same Unibeast USB. (Only 1 USB attached to the laptop)

I think you are confusing the Theme (a bunch of images) with boot loader.

What do you mean reject "GraphicsEnabler=n". GraphicsEnabler is a valid flag in both boot loaders.

Perhaps it is the theming

After a second attempt, the flag "GraphicsEnabler=n" worked but it still ends up with the same result as the previous image.

Only this time, it's short one line. (Only one USBMSC Identifier...... before it freezes)

EDIT:

Additionally, I used IntelAzulFB=3 since I looked around and found that the HD4400 for i5-4200U cpus have a device id of 0x80860a16.
Which I assumed to correspond to ID=3, "3 = 0000160a"

See post #240 for all the flags you should be using. And always post a photo.

The approach with GraphicsEnabler=N focuses on disabling graphics. You could also try to enable them...

GraphicsEnabler=y IntelAzulFB=12 -v -x -f UseKernelCache=n dart=0

-or-

GraphicsEnabler=y IntelAzulFB=12 -v -f UseKernelCache=n dart=0

-or-

with different IntelAzulFB numbers.

Also, keep in mind it takes a while to reach the installer. It is not very fast...

And it could be an issue with the way you created your Unibeast USB. Make sure you DID NOT use legacy USB.

Unibeast USB was made ticking only 10.9 Installation and Laptop Support

Attempted with all of the above flags and variations.

Still ends up with this result.

I can only guess that you have a USB problem. Or your Unibeast USB is corrupt somehow. Try re-creating it. And check your BIOS for settings related to USB...

Also, your profile does not reflect any Haswell laptop.

Please provide complete details in your profile.

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + screen resolution

Yeah, I'll try a USB 2.0 drive I guess.

I've updated my system information.

When patching the mach_kernel, when exactly is the vanilla mach_kernel generated so that I know when to patch it?
Is it after the first attempt resulting in a reboot?

Which mach_kernel are you talking about? The mach_kernel on the USB is placed there by Unibeast. You patch it after Unibeast is done creating your USB. The mach_kernel eventually on your HDD is placed there by the OS X installer. You patch it (replace it with the one on your USB) after the OS X installer has completed.
