Hello,:)

I have a problem with installing Mavericks.
I created a USB device with Unibeast.

If I boot from the USB device, I see the tonymac-screen, press enter, see the grey apple screen for the part of a second and the computer restarts.

I tried

-x (restart after a few seconds)
-v (same problem, computer restarts after a while)
GraphiscEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1 (both together, same problem)

My system:

Motherboard Asus P5L-MX
Intel Dual-Core E3400
2GB DDR2 RAM
1TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 9800

I have installed Snow Leopard successful on this system, and I updated it successful to 10.6.8. There were no problems.:headbang:

Should I try to update the bios?

Thank you!

Norbert

Really no ideas?

I tried it with another computer.
Same problem, restart after seeing the apple for a second.

What is the problem?

Thanks.

Try flags npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000

Hi

thank you for the answer.

Both flags don´t work.
The problem is the same as described in my first post.

I tried also to combine those 2 flags with GraphicsEnabler=Yes - no success.

regards

when you do -v and you see all the script does it hang on before the script is finished or does it boot into the installer and you see a blank grey screen before it restarts.

also try cpus=1 flag

thats the flag I am currently stuck on, I can only boot into the system with cpus=1 which is not cool.

If I use -v it stops somewhere in the script, I see no grey screen.
Without -v I see the same grey screen with the apple in the middle like the one I see if I boot Snow Leopard. But only for one second, then the computer restarts.

also try cpus=1 flag

It doesn´t work :(

Thanks.

There is an outright possibility that this old board won't work with 10.9. I have that feeling that it won't; but, I could be proven wrong.

What were the specs of the other computer that you tried it on?

Updating the bios wouldn't hurt since your board is quite old.

It was a H55H-M and an Intel Core i5. Nvidia GeForce 9800 and 4GB DDR3.
Maybe this board will be new enough, but the LAN port and the onboard graphics card are broken.

Could you recommend me a new board?
But I would like to use the i5 and the DDR3 Ram again, so I need a 1156 socket board which works with Mavericks. Do you know one?

Or is this this hardware also too old?

Thanks!

Be more specific and list the make and model of the board and the CPU. We need to know what generation is the i5.
