There is not a lot of differences between the two, correct? I am not sure if I will ever use the extra PCI-E (or whatever it is called) slots because I plan to mod a PowerMac G5/ Mac Pro and I want to make sure either board will work. I was considering using this mATX board:

But I saw this one:

and figured I might as well pay $10 exta dollars for it. So, any thoughts? Should I just buy the ATX or mATX board? There have been numerous success stories with both...

Also, can anyone recommend me a case to hold my computer until I accomadate all the parts for the PowerMac G5/Mac Pro? Something under $150 preferably and silver

Thanks!

Honestly..google could of easily answered that question. Why would their be a difference? Ones bigger and ones smaller. But you should buy this cheaper Asrock Z68

Has much better reviews then the gigabyte one and its $40 cheaper, and asrocks rocks.

And a silver case...hmm just by your post it seems like you may like this case.

I personally dont like those gaming looking cases but alotpeople do. My current case is

The difference is, mATX is small and uses less power, ATX is big and uses more power. If your a first time builder an ATX board would offer more room for upgrades, like a cpu cooler. As far as the G5 mod goes, I really cant recommend doing it. It's a TON of work not just popping the parts in like a regular build.

I use a coolermaster hyper 212+ on it. Who told you you cant put a cpu cooler on a micro atx..lol. And what do you mean more room for upgrades? My motherboard can upgrade the same as any other ATX motherboard.

in a way imaxt is actually right.
on my atx board, i have a pci wifi card, a dual slot gfx card and a pci tv card, and still have slots free.

definitely couldnt do that on the board you listed.

Good point, but most of that stuff is unessecary. Pci wifi card could easily be replaced by a wifi usb adapter. You could then easily use a dual slot gpu and a pci card. I got 2 dual slot gpus in CF on mine.

And when i hear "upgrade" most of the time i think about adding another HDD, a ssd, graphics card, more ram, whatever. Not adding a card to a pci slot unless its

thats your opinion, whereas what imaxt said was a fact.

might seem unnecessary to you, but i prefer a pci wifi card which works oob to a usb one which needs drivers.
i also use a tv card in windows to rip vhs home movies, and well...watch tv.

you are mixing opinions with fact to fit your viewpoint.
fact is, for some people matx is perfect. for people who need more options for upgrades such as pci cards, atx offers that.
