  • You have posted in Desktop Support with a Laptop Hardware and Hi Sierra installation error!

  • Your CLOVER/config.plist/SMBIOS has no Mac model [See uploaded edited image opens in Clover Configurator Vibrant.
  • Try MacBook Pro 14, 2 as Mac Model and reboot and see.
  • For better support post in Laptop Support.

Thanks for the reply. The hardware is the desktop configuration in the original post - High Sierra.

Perhaps I have formatted something incorrectly but it is in the correct forum.
Are you getting laptop hardware from the profile information of clover files?

Hi there,

maybe I can help you. My hardware setup is very similar as yours (GA-H97-D3H and Intel Xeon E3-1231v3), except that I have a Samsung Evo 960 and a GeForce 1080. My hack is 100% working, so you could try to replace your Clover folder on your installation medium with my attached Clover folder. After the installation you can install Clover to your EFI partition and copy my config (MacPro6.1), kexts, drivers64 and patched-DSDT (maybe you need to add here some different patches) and SSDT.

Thank you very much, sounds like it might work. I'll try this.

Your welcome, but I forgot something. When I need to to reinstall MacOS, I need a config file without the Nvidia Web drivers enabled. So I think you need this config file for your installation medium and my "old" config file for the normal operation (Only when you use the web drivers. If not, you must disable the web drivers inside the "old" config file).

Ok. I think I got that. Thanks again.

May be I caught only what was under your signature and caused unnecessary problem for all. My apologies for that.

  • The major cause for the installation error was missing SMBIOS >Mac Model.
  • Once you insert one that is closer to > 2009 year models of any Desktop or even Mac Notebook, you should pass that error.
  • Next you can wait for verbose boot to make further changes as and when they appear.
