There is still no Mac that has an 8th generation Intel CPU heart and the buyer's guide suggests the 8th generation Intel CPU. I wonder is this suitable?

Besides, how about native CPU/IGPU power management?

Tom

There is now; the MacBook Pro. But yes, it is natively supported and cpu power management works.

High Sierra 10.13.6 was last official release that does not have native power management support for Intel 8 series processors.

Only on the factory macOS release supplied with these new MacBook Pro machines. Wait for Mojave official release for full support for power management from Apple which will probably be released some time in or around the next 4 weeks.

It has been possible to use 8 series for running macOS for some time successfully but without full power management support from Apple/macOS. There are plenty of user builds and even a good selection of Golden Builds using the latest Intel 8 series platform running High Sierra.
