Hi All,
I thought I would post with my latest mod, a mac classic. As with my G5 mod, I've tried to keep everything looking as original as possible. Unfortunately I found out after some research that 9" colour crt's are longer than the black & whites and will not fit into the case, so I had to go with an 8" lcd. It's fitted behind the glass of the original screen.
I didn't have an angle grinder, so I just used a hammer to chip away at the glass until I was down to the metal surround of the crt. I'm also using an imate adb adapter so I can use the original mouse and keyboard.
The specs are:
Motherboard: Zotac 9300 itx wifi
CPU: Core 2 Quad 6600
Ram: 6gb ddr3 1333
Wifi: Apple Airport via a pcie adaptor
HDD: 64gb sandisk SSD for the boot drive and a maxtor 320gb for storage
Graphics: Onboard Geforce 9300 overclocked to 9400 speeds
It's running Mountain Lion brilliantly
