Hopefully they update the drivers so we can use the good new video cards on this one !
Why would they update the drivers for Snow Leopard?

It's a dead OS and they are only doing this so people can upgrade to Mountain Lion.

Well basically the reason they have done this is, because 10.5 is no longer supported by Apple, hence no more updates for iTunes etc, people are unable to sync their 10.5 with their iPhone.

I had that issue once, and I had to call up Apple to get them to sell it to me. Apparently this just makes it easier for both customers and employees...

Hi I looked at the apple store can't find it is it still available can someone leave a link

Unlike Microsoft, there are no license keys in OS X.

@ johnm

Not that i dont believe you or want to come across as an :silent: but Can you Post a Pic of the Disc so it can be confirmed that it's indeed 10.6.8 and Not the last Retail version which was 10.6.3.

Amazon has it labelled as a 10.6.8 but then it says '' Snow Leopard Version 10.6.3 Upgradeable to 10.6.8 ''

Just purchased my DVD yesterday!! Now, can someone confirm, these dvd's have unlimited use, not like 3 users then it doesnt work anymore?
I think you can use it on 5 computers.

Everyone, please remember that it is very unlikely that Apple will keep the Snow Leopard DVD available at the Apple Store forever. The DVD version that they are selling is the single computer license of 10.6.3 ( I have not been able to find the Family Pack on the store site, but it might be available by phone... ). It seems to be very difficult to find the DVD by searching the store. As soon as the number of people running 10.5.x on Intel machines seems to level off and stop dropping, my bet is that Apple will pull the DVD's permanently from the store and via phone. So IF you want to easily ( and legally ) install OS X on a new Hack, ( I would assume that the majority of users would want/need to use 10.6.x as a pathway to 10.8.x ) without the need for a Real Mac or previous, running Hack, THEN I recommend picking up these DVD’s while they are available cheaply from the Apple Store.

It's either that or if they run out of DVDs. I'm willing to plunk money down on Apple not printing them anymore.

I'm really not getting the whole hype behind this DVD either (beside being the cheapest pathway to ML). There's always the OS X Lion on a USB stick option. It will get longer support. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4183669?start=0&tstart=0
