Hey, I'm looking to get my AMD Radeon 6770 graphics card fully functioning in Lion. Additionally, I want to be able to run Final Cut. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Newegg is sold out of the rebadged 6770 that would install Lion/ML without any voodoo
It runs FCX very well->http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814105003
The rest of the 6770's have been hit or miss on installing ML...

However, I found this->http://www.serversupply.com/MULTIMEDIA/GRAPHICS CARD/1GB/DELL/GCJ42.htm
It looks like the XFX version that I have and they have identical performance as the 6770's

Haven't tried these from server supply yet, I'm trying to make up my mind about getting into nVidia 6 series as I think the 5770-6770 is at the end of life.

I have 3 of the XFX 5770's and 2 of the HP 6770's in service that are ML/FCX hacks...THEY JUST WORK!

It just depends on which 6770 you have and how many displays you want...but if you can USE 3 HDD setup:

1 for content, 1 for import and 1 for render (can be your OS HDD)

I use HDD for content/storage, SSD for import and SSD for render and this setup is brutally fast

Well I don't mind whether I run Lion, Mountain Lion, or Snow Leopard. I actually do have the discontinued card, I got it like a week ago, they must have just stopped selling it. Anyways, where do I go from there? I will only be using one monitor.

How do I setup Multibeast and where do I get the drivers?

I have a Retina Macbook Pro, and have ML on a USB. I just need to know what to do in Multibeast for the 6770 to work. Or, how to get the drivers.

Great!

go to ->http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-lion-desktop-guides/

Or search for your setup...best done in google, just tag search with tonymac

typically you wont need to do anything extra with that video card...just get the install up and running w/minimal additions from Multibeast....backup w/carbon copy cloner to another partition or better yet another HDD. If you screw something up you can just boot to your clone, and clone back to your main install.

Obviously there are many different component combinations to "make a MAC" and that is whats so cool about our community, someone has probably already come across an issue that you may come up against...search-read-experiment...and if all else fails ask!

Doing this will give you the most satisfaction of your journey to the world of hackintoshing and will supply you with knowledge to troubleshoot your system and confidence to try something new.
