I just purchased a crucial m4 SSD 128GB, and when booting from it alone I get the system up in 20 seconds, quite an improvement from before (with a mechanical HDD). However, if I connect a second WD 2.5TB HDD for storage, the boot time goes up to 3.5 minutes, mostly reading the HDD. Dont know if it matters, but I got it formatted with the disk utility to "extended file system" because I needed to copy stuff from a linux hard drive (using kubuntu). I used before the Kernelcache option of the multibeast. I cannot run the extension migration tool, it gives me an error. And both drives have been verified and (the M4) the permissions repaired.
System: Core2duo, abit IP35pro mobo, nvidia 8800gt.
Any ideas of the cause of the long boot time?.
