Loading logo corrupts then freezes when booting high sierra install

Mojave installs fine, but I really want my gtx 1070 working, and I'm told that sierra/high sierra is the only way to get it working, even with drivers.

Correct, you need to wait for the official web drivers to be released from Nvidia.
Patched web drivers won't work on Mojave.
Your card is listed correctly but there is no acceleration.

I tried on high sierra but my machine would actually shut down then restart after clover booted the drive.
