Lion won't download

I've found a couple of different random responses from scattered through the forums about not being able to download Lion from the App Store with the message "This version of Mac OS X 10.7 cannot be installed on this computer." But I haven't seen anything that would be different than the configuration I'm already running, I think. Can someone give me a summary of what needs to be done to get the app store to let me download Lion?

Sounds to me like the system definition is set to an older Mac. Open up System Profiler and see what it says under Model Name and Model Identifier
