Hi, I'm also a desperate audioless Acer 4020TG owner!

I've tried pretty much everything I could read & think of to no avail - only from voodoohda I get some sort of hiss sound from the speakers.
When I tried to load the dsdt.aml from the other post I get stuck before the login screen and only safe boot mode works.
It's a shame since Lion (10.7.3) runs otherwise pretty smoothly besides the audio issue and not being able to sleep.

I also attach my DSTD.DSL so that someone might be able to help me out, hopefully.

when i install kext and active dsdt, mac never loads in to the desktop screen. Stay with grey screen.

I didn't try that, but probably it'll happen the same too.
So still no "miracle" to make the speakers work in our acer's...

For the time being I'm using a usb audio adapter that works great fortunately.

Fortunately just plug&play!
It's not the perfect solution especially on the move but @home & @office it's fine for me.

Hi trqster,

Your the first one to get your updated DSDT.

please open it up go to the HDEF section and check that these lines are present

                            "layout-id", 
                            Buffer (0x04)
                            {
                                0x0D, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00
                            },

To Everyone who uploaded DSDT,

I have updated the layout ID's and AppleHDA.kext will load properly.
People we are doing very well but lads and lasses we need to know how to work with DSDT and to check if your DSDT has proper injection info in the HDEF section

use the magnifying glass icon on DSDT editor to Find (HDEF).

make sure the info exists so that when you reboot mac os knows about your sound codec.

please report back and let me know how you get on

i have edited my DSDT and compiled, no warning no error and loaded in the chameleon plist
installed also hdaenabler

now i get an error on applehda but i don't know what it is

Still no success I'm affraid - after the DSDT.aml and AppleHDA.kext installed the boot takes a lot longer, and gets stuck on a total gray screen, just before the login screen usually appears. :?
Thanks anyway for Ash for all his hard work.

On the other hand the sound through the usb audio device works just great!
