I'm guessing this is caused by some kext that is being used. Maybe the Voodoo audio? Not sure how to track this down. Will Mountain Lion install on such a system as is or is it best to try and fix this now?

if u r goin to mountain lion u must be 64bit
note:
multibeast>system utils>boot options>64-bit apple boot screen(ge=yes) or
>64-bit graphicsenabler=no
:D

if u r using voodoohda make sure u use a 64bit kext...or u will panic..
try voodoohda 0.0.56(32/64bit)

Thanks for the response.

In Activity Monitor, it looks like most everything is running in 64bit. I'm thinking now that under "About this Mac > More Info > System Report > Extensions" any non 64bit extensions "might" show up?

***edit***

I tried Tonymacx86 suggestion (thanks BTW) and removed "arch=i386" from Kernel Flags and it worked. Unfortunately the system booted without proper video support for the installed nVidia 9500GT and I suspect audio was nonfunctional as well. So for now I replaced "arch=i386" under Kernel Flags in /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist.

Replace arch=i386 with this:

Code:
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>arch=x86_64</string>

Reboot and check kernel extension.

Reboot and check kernel extension.

Thanks mate, that did it!

64-bit Kernel and Extentions: yes

All extensions are 64bit,....!

Thanks again, I'm guessing this should make upgrading to Mountain Lion a little easier when the time comes.
