THIS TUTORIAL NEEDS NO KEXT EDITING WHAT SO EVER!

VERY EASY. JUST READ!!

i have officially confirmed that the linksys ae1000 works with 10.8.2 .

heres what you have to do to get it working

1a. download the original ralink package from this website.

------> http://www.ralinktech.com/en/04_support/license.php?sn=5004

just accept the license and download the dmg.

Now Install it. But DO NOT RESTART!!!!

1b. download kextbeast from the tonymac downloads section

2. download the attached ralink kext with pre edited device and vendor id onlyh for the linksys/cisco ae1000.

3. install the .kext with kext beast. and now....reboot like normal

upon restart when you get into mountain lion you will see a thing in the top right corner of your screen next to the clock. it will say Ralink. click on that and make sure your ae100 is plugged in and ready. if the app opens up a window for the wireless utility, YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED YOUR WIRELESS ADAPTER!

Oh and make sure to delete the .zip at the end the .kext and .dmg files.

it should look like this.......rt2870usbwireless.dmg not.dmg.zip
rt2870usbwireless.kext not.kext.zip
Your Welcome :D

This works perfectly!

Do you know how you can get the network to save tho? I made a profile, but I have to manually select it on boot up!

Thanks,
Dion

I can confirm that this works with OS X 10.6.8 as well! Thanks! :D

i can get the ralink button on the top right but it does not open the wireless utility. 10.6.7. can I make it work on my os?

I ran the installer in the attached .dmg (is the the same as the broken link in the OP?). then i ran kextbeast with the kext on the desktop. then reboot from the installation menu. ralink at the top but doesn't do anything.

any help very much appreciated
