Hello guys, can i install the LG Blueray internal burner in a Hackingtosh build? Id like to be able to take advantage of that if possible. The other question i would have would be does it matter what software you use to play the movies on? VLC, etc?

Im looking at this unit:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136250
LG Black 14X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 5X DVD-RAM 12X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA BDXL Blu-ray Burner,3D Play Back (WH14NS40) - OEM

From what I've heard it would be best to do bluray in Windows. But while you're at it, you can buy me one too. :)

I have that exact model, other than one small hiccup when I upgraded to 10.8.2 it works perfectly. I haven't tried watching movies with it though, I just use it to make offsite backups.

I stand corrected. :(
