If you are going to use SL 10.6.8. you need to purchase the DVD from Apple.

If you are going for the clean Lion install use Unibeast.

Here is how to try and redownload Lion if you can.

http://osxdaily.com/2011/08/02/re-downl ... app-store/

If you cannot redownload the Lion app you might have to purchase the Lion thumbdrive.

You cannot keep your OC sets for installing Lion you might have to reinstall Windows + data but I will update the post once I find the post on the forum dealing with Windows installed first when looking to install Mac OS.

Thank you Sir! I found a better alternative for now. One of my mate's got Leopard on his macbook and he said his one came with a cd, not sure what cd he has if recovery or installation though, i must confirm.

Once i have install os in hands i can use disk utility to format my desktop's hdd again. Windows was supreme and all the updates installed all up to date, but i will have to format the windows partition too if i got it right, the system was installed with bios SATA option to IDE so system wont boot once i change bios settings to AHCI. It will BSOD every windows start up.

most articles and triple boot installation guides i have read do say the order doesnt really matter, as you can change the boot instruction of the partition with linux partitioning tools live cd/usb. is there a more convenient way to order the installation?

You will have to follow Going Bald's guide here since you are looking to install OS on one HD.

http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php ... 72&start=0

It is highly recommended to install each OS on one drive each.

That DVD from your friend's macbook will NOT work you need the RETAIL. Those CD/DVD are specific for macbooks and will not work. You need the DVD that has the snow leopard on the front of the disc not those grey discs.

thanks buddy!

thank you for the guide that explained me why i was unable to re-download it; it's actually very stupid why, but i am new to mac and i am totally unaware of these tricks. i was totally unaware of this trick;

"Re-Download Mac OS X Lion from the App Store"

Here's the print of course

ok guys, this is my overclocked bios settings

(yes i know i still must change AHCI settings)

http://vimeo.com/34313099

Edit: Lion is already installing =]

This is what i did:
[*]All SATA/PATA to [AHCI]
[*]SATA Controller [AUTO]
[*]SATA/PATA Controller [AUTO]
[*]JMB363 to [AHCI]
[*]JMB362 to [AHCI]

I did not put the mobo to default settings, still overclocked

ok i am very stuck again, installed lion but its all weird, no support for anything. my gtx 295 is recognized by the system but i have 1024 resolution. no wireless, sound or anything.

what do i do??? getting tired, 3 days on it and it keeps getting trickier....

also when i remove the installation usb after the lion was installed the system fails to boot, will i need to have the usb in the entire lifetime there????

i ran updates and some apple stuff no drivers. i dont have a 'mac' keyboard on that desktop, which makes things ever more complicated.

i copied Mac OS Lion installation to that application folder, tried using Unibeast again to remount the installation in order to see if i missed any step of customization to enable drivers, but there was nothing to edit within Unibeast =$, besides if fail to mount.

when i successfully installed it to usb via unibeast from the imac it worked ok, but it tooook a long time.

also why does Unibeast take this long to mount the installation to the USB?

trying to install multibeast following the Lion Installation steps and it fails everytime. :banghead:

progress update:

reinstalled all again from scratch using the Unibeast USB.
installation went fine!

Installed Multibeast and this time it worked, however i still was on 1024 x 768 resolution so i installed this "Official NVIDIA Drivers" and it did not let me install that driver.

So i installed the "Chimera" *Standalone Installer to update to the latest Chimera bootloader.

and now i got a massive crash, check it out;

new update:

booted from Unibeast again, reinstalled the OS and ran Multibeast and installation fails every time. (yes i did trash the folder in the desktop) before trying again.

next step: format all again...going to install win + linux.

thank you all for the help. im giving up
