One ioreg coming up:

You have a lot of work to do before attempting to make brightness control work. A bit of a "cart before the horse" kind of thing.

Problems:

- power management is not implemented: read here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-haswell-laptops.html

- graphics QE/CI is not working: Easiest way to make it work (for noobs) would be to install Chimera. You can do it with Chameleon, but it is less automatic (read up on IntelAzulFB flag).

Take care of those things before attempting anything else.

oh oh dear.. was probably expecting this..
chimera makes things look better, smoother but don't know if QE/CI has been enabled.
Used Mulitbeast 6.5. New ioreg

QE/CI appears to be working.

You still have power management/sleep issues:

- AppleLPC is not loading. You can use it to get your feet wet patching DSDT. Patches from here: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch, apply: "Haswell LPC".

- PM see: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-haswell-laptops.html

- USB will probably interfere with sleep:
For instant wake: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch
Apply: "7-series/8-series USB"
Also, install GenericUSBXCHI.kext, and use kernel flag -gux_defer_usb2

probably done the LPC patch..
Should I do any of the battery patches and which in that case?

Probably time for Champange! Brigthness slider is in!!!!!!!
Last thing I did was the probook installer and let it do the ssdt
Many thanks for hanging in there and guiding me forward, so many steps back and forward so to repeat this is not possible but it's all hidden in your post #22 guide!!

How should I verify successful activation of LPC?

Battery indicator is working with the battery kext installed but sleep and power management is not really ok, just turns of screen but this is not so important for me, one serious problem still left though, usb 3.0 ejects disks after a few seconds of activity, is there anything to do about this?

Open IORegistryExplorer, search for 'AppleLPC'.

Keep in mind there is a ~20 sec delay in Mavericks.

Which drivers are you using for USB3?
