Hello,
I'm sorry to write about that because there's already a lot of posts about it,
but I have Lenov Y50-70 / i7 4720hq / gtx 960m 4Go / HD 4600 / ssd 512 , with the UHD screen.
It's brand new, and i thought i was buying the ful HD screen but they sent me that UHD...
I'm an absolute beginner, I've watched a lot and a lot of tutorials, and read a lot of posts about making it an hackintosh. But I wasn't expecting that UHD problem.
So I read a lot oh posts about the UHD, changing the memory allocated to 128 Mb in the bios,
but the truth is that I don't understand a thing. I don't know where and how I should begin.
In fact every post brings me to another post, and finally I turn around in those posts.
I checked, the bios version of my lenovo is 3.03

Could someone help me with that? In fact I didn't understand if that memory allocation should be mattered at the beginning and in the bios, or if there are some steps in the bios, and som other steps in the post-installation.

I thank you for your answers, and sorry for my english, i'm french...

Thanks!
Max

Hello,
thanks for your reply

I read it but I don't understand.
If I download and install the 1.14 BIOS,
will it had a menu in taht BIOS, where I will be able to set the memory to 128?

Thanks

Does the 1.14 unlock the advance menu?
And if it does, then I just have to set the memory to 128; and that's it?'

I'm sorry but I read it again and again and I don't see it clearly explained...

Thanks

You need to read the guide. You use the UEFI shell to set DVMT-prealloc.

hello,
but the guide says there is 2 methods,
one using the EFI shells,
the other flashing the bios. I would have liked to flash the bios

Yes, some have flashed an unlocked BIOS so that DVMT-prealloc can be set directly via BIOS setup.

Your choice.

What I did so far was INSTALLING using the method 1080
Using an external monitor is possible to use 100% working
use Fn + F2 to turn off the notebook display
Important use method 1080
