Hi,
I have been running my X61 on El Capitan for a while (using the 64-bit beta kext drivers that appeared on 10.6.2). It has been working quite fine. I ran Mavericks on it before this.
Thinking about going up a notch, i prepared a stick with Unibeast for Sierra. When i startup the machine, it comes to a row of "plusses" (++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++) and just hangs there. I have tried to replace the AptioFix (with v2 and vice versa) but the problem remains.
Is it even possible to install Sierra on this machine? (i would hope that it is since El Capitan works on it - perhaps wishful thinking )
