Hello

I would like to install Sierra OS on my Lenovo X1 Carbon 1st Gen (Type 3444).
I know that current WiFi PCI-Ex NGFF card Intel Centrino Advenced-N 6205 (Model 62205ANSFF) will not be working.

Replacing this card is difficult because BIOS mod whitelist removal will require
"USB SPI Programmer"

and "SOIC8 SOP8 cable"
SOIC8_SOP8_cable.JPG
to dump original personal BIOS form chip and the mode for whitelist.

I have contact with BIOS moder "Dudu2002" on forum https://www.bios-mods.com/ and he will help me with remove whitelist if i dump and send him my personal BIOS. I order needed tools and I'm waiting for delivery.

I have problem with get compatible WiFi NGFF card... I found nice card (chip BCM94352Z)

but Ithat card will be to short on port in laptop mainboard, oryginal size card has 42mm x 22mm and that card has 30mm x 22mm

Could someone help find me compatible card 42mm x 22mm witch chip which will be full compatible with Sierra OS?

Hey Horban, Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm looking to do the same thing with a Lenovo Helix...

EDIT
Actually, I'm thinking to use an 30x22mm BCM94356ZAE m.2 NGFF card (https://s.taobao.com/search?q=BCM94...r&ssid=s5-e&search_type=item&sourceId=tb.item)

With an M.2 NGFF wireless network card to MINI PCIE network card adapter card (https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?sp...v0Xjs&id=571076814214&ns=1&abbucket=20#detail)

And a couple of IPEX 4 to IPEX 1 cables to tie into the existing antennas (https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?sp...nAv2s&id=542773420531&ns=1&abbucket=20#detail)

Overall the card adapter guy says that the setup will be at least 2mm thicker, but I'm optimistic it will still fit inside.
