This is before most recent LegacyHDA changes. I did also put in a combine efi string for both my video (GTX 260) and Sound into my com.apple.Boot.plist.

Than You. I guess I did not ask the question correctly. I'd figured you were/are getting audio over HDMI/GFX card from the GFX audio codec, in addition to analog and digital audio from the MB ALC codec/SPDIF out?

If so, I am very interested to understand how you did it (generate GFX audio string for boot.plist, and whether the GFX video properties must be included there as a string, versus just using Graphics enabling via Chameleon /DSDT). Kind of thinking that putting the two together may be critical step.

I see you have the 'standard' HDEF edits in DSDT. What process did you use to generate the pin configs? Do you have a verbit output you could share? Not sure what MB you have, so kind of hard to reverse engineer the pin-configs, definitely some interesting lines, but possibly it's just due to you having ALC1200 or some other different codec, rather than the magic bullet for GFX audio.

P.S. Do you see the GFX card's audio codec listed in SystemProfiler-Audio section?
(I can only get to see it, in addition to my onboard ALC, if I use HDAEnabler.kext, does not show up with just HDEF in DSDT and I'm "injecting" GFX support using Chameleon GraphicsEnabler).

Anyway, what you have provided is giving me ideas to explore, so thanks again.

Re: NEW LegacyHDA Edits 888/888b/889/889a- Need Testers!

the LegacyHDA posted here for my 889a started 'plopping' or audio artifacts, so now using the LegacyHDA from multibeast and all is fine.

EDIT: my old LegacyHDA from MultiBeast now has audio artifacts after a long sleep. what do i do?

Hey guys! Thank you for input!
Rolled back to old DSDT and LegacyHDA for my Plex -> UD2 optical spdif -> Denon AVR-1910 setup.

Re: NEW LegacyHDA Edits 888/888b/889/889a- Need Testers!

Okay..

Just to state what works for me.

- Hardware/Software in my SIG (APPLEHDA 10.6.2)
- DSDT with ALL EDITS
- LEGACYHDA in /E/E (6x 3.5 Inputs - MULTIBEAST - CODEC 889)
- HDAENABLER /S/L/E

I removed HDAEnabler from /S/L/E and then used the 889 LEGACYHDA from the first post of this thread. No love.

Tony you stated that I shouldn't need HDAENABLER if I have 889 info in my DSDT.
This ain't the case for me for some reason.

Let me know what you want to know..

Weird- that must mean that the 889 DSDT edits are wrong. Since HDAEnabler is normally used in place of those. Take a peek into HDAenabler- and compare the info.plist to what is in your DSDT- if you're interested.

Any other 889 users with issues??

Re: NEW LegacyHDA Edits 888/888b/889/889a- Need Testers!

Am I the only one with an 888? :eek:

Is there something that I can do about my assertion errors?

Okay Tony,

I'll be making a test install on Tuesday.
So will get back to you on that.

I don't think many members here have the P55A-UD6

Ok, so we've found a pathmap that will enable all the ins and outs on my P55M-UD2 (ALC 888b), and the same settings work in the ALC 889a LegacyHDA as well- could anyone with 888 or 889 test these new ones?

We're gonna try to get everyone's ins and outs working for MultiBeast 1.0. This will help us ;)

Download the ALC 888 LegacyHDA.kext
Download the ALC 888b LegacyHDA.kext
Download the ALC 889 LegacyHDA.kext
Download the ALC 889a LegacyHDA.kext

With these edits, I have enabled all audio outputs, front headphone with switching from the "internal speaker" (green jack). The only thing not working yet is the mic input. Also, S/PDIF has not been tested, but appears as an option.

Let me know how they work- replace your LegacyHDA in /Extra/Extensions, rebuild caches, and reboot. Then post screenshots of your Audio/Midi Setup and System Profiler like the ones below.

:mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

tonymacx86 the incorrect pathmaps are being used for LegacyHDA888. Correct ones are below.
Code:
20 --> 12 --> 2 - Green jack
21 --> 14 --> 4 - Lineout
22 --> 13 --> 3 - Lineout
23 --> 15 --> 5 - Lineout
27 --> 38 --> 37 - HP
8 --> 35 --> 26 - LineIn
9 --> 34 --> 25 - MicIn
6 --> 30 - SPDIF Out
10 --> 31 - SPDIF In
