Humble Modding ...
Hi all,
I've been reading a lot from this forum to get my project done.
Here's the result (sorry for crappy iPhone 4 pictures)
The components:
- Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition (OC' @ 4,015 Ghz)
- Gigabtye GM 880-UD2H
- Gigabyte GTX 560 TI OC (@ 900 Mhz OOTB)
- CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO
- 2 x 4 GB Kingston Value 1333 DDR3
- LG Blu-Ray Combo 10x
- OCZ 120 GB Agility 3 SSD (System)
- 2 x WD Green Caviar 1,5TB (Data)
- Front I/O Kit from BlackCH (@ InsanelyMac) : top quality job
- LEPA G-MAS 750
- D-LINK Adaptor USB WiFi-N 150 Mbps DWA-127
I wanted to use my already owned ATX Gigabyte (GA MA770T-UD3), but at the same time I wanted to keep the HDD in their original place: dilemma... so after a little dremeling (Toh!), I figured out, it would be better to switch to mATX: I found a cheap Gigabyte GM 880-UD2H on ebay and went with it.
ATX
mATX
Epoxy-ed it to the case - txs to Steve.
"Et voilà"
I still need to figure out a way to get the inside wires clean (BTW any ideas are welcome): IN PROGRESS
It's mainly a Gaming/MultiMedia machine at the moment, so I did not look up to dualboot and install OSX.
It's a low budget mod also : 750€ (including Dremel).
Txs a lot TonyMac for all provided infos to mod a Powermac G5 with not too much effort ...
