klinker's build: GA-P55A-UD3 rev.1 / i5 750 / 12GB / GTX560Ti SOC + GT240 SilentCell

Introduction

This is my 2nd hackintosh build for my use with Logic Pro. The first was years ago based on Leopard, later on Snow Leopard with a Gigabyte X48 UD4, Q6600, 4GB of ram and a HD4850 graphic card. This build is also little old, from the Lion times, but just now i find some time to made a thread. I know the hardware is not the last thing, but for now, it still serves me without problems or better performance need.

Thanks! Very useful info for me!
I used your settings as a guide for my Mavericks install, and it went very well. Right now it crashes on sleep - but I'll work on that later. I have the gtx 650ti card. but otherwise same board and CPU.

Actually - it occasionally crashes when it is rendering hard too.

Does yours ever crash on sleep?
Chris

I don't have any crash, but i'm still on ML.
Tried Mavericks once on my test HDD and can't boot installation with GTX560 or GT240, but the installation start with my old HD4850 and graphic enabler "yes". Also when installed all things with multibeast, the system won't boot with HD4850, but starts when put in the GTX card, weird. I test it for some day's and works ok, but can't get sleep working. If i put the PC in sleep, when wake up, it starts like it was shutted down. When i have some time i will try to fix it, but for now will stay on ML, because is working like a sharm.
If your PC crash when is rendering is maybe because of temps or to high OC?
For workstations you need to made as much stability tests before use them for work.

Made another test today with Mavericks and all was fine.
Booted installation with booth cards installed, without problems, installed 10.9.1 and for now all is working very well. Also the sleep, etc
Will test the system for a week and if all will be ok i will made a guide.

Hi, I followed your guide to installing Mavericks, my mobo is the same as yours. I have the following setup though:
CPU- i5 760 socket 1156
Ram/Memory - F3-128000CL9D-8GBRL (4gbx2 kit)
Video Card - Sapphire Radeon HD6950
I also followed this guide:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...successfully-installed-upgraded-10-6-8-a.html

Everything installs and boots up fine, til the point where I have to boot up without any boot flags, after installing the MultiBeast. I've tried both your setup and different variations I have tried but nothings works. I'm stuck at a white boot screen after the apple logo. Any help will be appreciated.:)

Video card issue for shure.
Find a build with the same video card as yours and use that setup for video card. My Nvidia cards work out of the box.

Thank you! I will follow that advise. I though AMD video card would work out of the box as well. :(

The AMD/ATI HD 6950 (actually, all the 6900 series) is not supported natively in Apple's OS X. Apple only supports chipsets that it uses in it's Mac systems. Thus, the OOB compatibility for most of the nVidia graphics cards. See the latest tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide, Graphics Cards section, for the latest recommended components. (See the Buyer's Guide link in the menu at the top of this page.)

Thanx for the info on the buyer's guide.
I have not been able to put as much time as I wish I would towards making my system work with osx but I will definitely look at the options of card available.
