Hi,

Having slow read and write speeds with my SSD: write 100/mbps and read/160 mbps according to Blackmagic Speedtest. It's connected to the SATA III-port and Trim is enabled. The system works great otherwise and osx feels snappy, but this is bothering me... any suggestions?

Just got a Samsung 840 120gb SSD. Sitting at 130 write and 267 read. I've also enabled TRIM and done my usual Multibeast stuff (nothing disk related). Curious as to why this has happened. I would also love some help. Seems others are getting much better speeds

I'm have same your problem too! Before/After TRIM enabled not different speeds.

The problem is the Blackmagic Speedtest software was designed to run tests on Hard Disc Drives rather than SSDs. SSDs that use the Sandforce controller do not give accurate results using this software.

Trim can not adjust the figures that the software gives you. The test is flawed - if your machine seems snappy compared to using a traditional HDD then it is working fine.

Thnx.

Actually the problem is firmware, not the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test. Check here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7763/an-update-to-kingston-ssdnow-v300-a-switch-to-slower-micron-nand

You may try updating the firmware using a Windows machine. Instructions and firmware can be downloaded from here: http://www.kingston.com/en/support/technical/downloads?product=SV300S3&filename=V300_525fw_Win

BTW, my Kingston V300 has 506 firmware and the performance is poor too. Up to 110 MB/s write and 160 MB/s read

Kingston just Screw the costumers .... as much as they can ...
