I´ve acquired a G4 Cube case as it is one of my dreams to rebuild. Never done a case mod but I'm rather crafty and i have the confidence. Well, the setup is in no way clear and it will probably cause a lot of head and heartache. And, i have probably not settled for anything yet.

Anyway, the thoughts;
Mobo; MSI Z97I gaming ACK (M.2 port, supports 1600+ mhz sticks)
CPU; Intel Core i7 4790 (adding the K maybe killing it?)
GPU; Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 Mini ITX OC 2GB
Sticks; No clue. G.Skill Ares DDR3 PC14900/1866MHz CL10 2x8GB, would it work?
SSD; Samsung 850 EVO Series MZ-N5E250BW 250GB (patently some fiddling with m2 disks?)

And the hardest part, the PSU. Found some "pico-psus" supporting 300 watts, 350 at peaks. Problem is the cost, and then adding a, or actually two, bricks to get the acquired 300 watts. Something like this;
http://www.pico-box.com/x3-atx-300.html

By calculation it should work with 300 watts on Extreme PSU calculator. Then I used a 970 gpu card as the 960 was not listed.

Uses; Gaming, some rendering, school related stuff in Adobe suit, CAD and more. And lets not talk about the thermal conditions :banghead: Buy yes, please do. And tell me its crap so i don't have to spend 10k sek on it :|

Start out by first reading through the G4 case mods section if you haven't already. There you can
get an idea of what hardware will work that won't overheat in the small cube case. It's not a simple
undertaking at all as you will find out. http://www.tonymacx86.com/powermac-...oaded-edition-my-2nd-hackintosh-case-mod.html

I've been studying it on and off for a while and from what i can conclude is that a i7 4790 would work, though i probably need to go down some i clock speed.

One problem seem to be the rather hefty coolers on the mobo interferes with a low profile cpu cooler like the Noctua NH-L9i. The option would maybe be a Deepcool Gamer Storm Gabriel as it has some clearance in the right places for the voltage regulators on the mobo.
