I'm using the CustoMac Pro build (Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3) and used the option "3rd party SATA" in Multibeast which makes the Marvell SATA drives appear as internal drives. This week I had an external eSATA drive hooked up to the mother board eSATA port and it was detected as an internal drive.

I got kernel panics after a few minutes, I guess it was the external drive going to sleep.
So 3rd party SATA patch also affects the Intel eSATA port.

Strangely, I had no Kernel panics log files in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports ?

Re: Kernel panics when using eSATA

Darn, I just had a kernel panic... again! No log. :banghead:
What else might be causing my problems?

10.7.3

Disabled "Put hard drive(s) to sleep when possible" in Power Management and got rid of more kernel panics.

Still some left before I dare to find this system stable.
