I'm running Windows 7 and OS X 10.8 - They're running each on their own partitions of a 256GB SSD. The Win7 side seems to work just fine - it can even access the mac hard drive side. Is there a way I can fix the issues with OSX without re installing everything?

As a rule, you shouldn't have Windows and Mac OS X running on the same disk. It confuses issues.

Disk drives are cheap; $65 for 1 Tbyte 7200 rpm HDD from Amazon. If you got a new drive or a SanDisk 120 GB SSD for $120, you could build a clean system in Mountain Lion and then transfer your files.

I experience kernel panic even if there is only ML installed in my OCZ vertex SSD
