never mind. it was a dumb mistake on my part. I did efi/boot+OC instead of efi/efi/boot+OC that's why it wasn't showing up as a bootable usb. USB seen now. I started install mac os big sur (external) but it gets stuck on apple logo with a blue line underneath with no progress.

UPDATE: Never mind AGAIN. I just reset the nvram. in the installer now.

Updated to Opencore. Everything is working flawlessly. Animations in certain cases are a little sluggish but that's probably due to shitty intel graphics. Thanks for the help.
