Hi Folks,

I've got a kernel panic when installing Ventura (13.6) and trying to figure out the cause.

Intel I3-10100
Gigabyte H410M mobo
16 GB Ram
1 TB M.2 drive
AMD RX 570 4 GB GPU

I used OC Aux Tools to update to 0.9.5 with all kext updates, so not sure why I'm getting the KP. Any input would be appreciated.

Surprised no response - is there additional info I need to provide?

Panic is due to your unsupported Atheros Wifi card. Remove these kexts (HS80211Family and AirPortAtheros40), + their config.plist entries.

Shut down, remove the wifi card and try to boot again after you clear NVRAM.

It might boot normally, possibly not. A good place to start troubleshooting.

If you need Wifi and BT the Broadcom cards still have Ventura support. Search the site to learn what models are supported.

Thanks for the insight - I didn’t think to check on WiFi compatibility but have been eyeing a Fenvi, so might be the right time if those work.

I disabled the kext for the Atheros card and was able to update BigSur to Ventura - thanks for the feedback!
