Hi, This is my first post ever - woo!

Right, I get my 10.6 installed using iBoot+Multibeast method. I have a dell n5040 with an intel i3-380m processor. I am running Snow leopard on an external HDD

My problem is the fact that when I try to install either the 10.6.8 or 10.6.7 update, I get a kernel panic in the final stages of the installer. (when its saying moving into place or similar)
After this panic, I cannot get my hackintosh to boot.

I was all ready to do my multibeast after install, but I then get the panic.

As far as I know, I don't have a sandybridge system, so I am a bit unsure of what I should do. :banghead:

By the way, I have made a frsh copy of osx on my hard drive ready to try something else.

Thanks in advance

Andy

install osx, navigate to /System/Library/Extensions, delete AppleIntelHD related kexts, run update helper, install combo update, watch it work.
