Any progress with this? I got this too (well, under 10.5.8 on an EP45-UD3P) but I can't tell if it happened in conjunction with VMWare Fusion and/or unplugging/disconnecting from the internet and then reconnecting the cable.
It's really the strangest thing.
If you get desperate and have the slot, get one of these "Encore 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit PCI Adapter (ENLGA-1320)" ... They always worked in my old rigs with the most basic IONetworking fix (can't remember if it works vanilla or basic driver)... it's actually Mac compatible by default. I know it's lame not using onboard gigabits but these puppies are rock solid. Hopefully we find a solution tho
