Hi,
I'm thinking about getting the non touchbar MacBook Pro to use in school, and a mackintosh to use at home which will last a long time due to it being so easy to upgrade.

I want to start using Xcode, therefore the hackintosh needs to be powerful enough to run the Xcode simulator.

The parts I'm think of are:

- i7700k quad core i7 Kaby Lake
- Gigabyte GTX 950 OC WF 2gb
- SM 960 Pro 512gb SSD
- Gigabyte GA Z270X Gaming 5
- Corsair Hydro i115 CPU cooler
- A cheap ATX PC case which comes with a 550W PSU
- 2x 120mm fans
- LG 27UD68-W 4k monitor

I have never built a computer before, and I am new to hackintosh. These are the parts I want. I just need advice on whether these parts are compatible with the hackintosh, and what the installation process would be. Is the gtx 950 powerful enough to power the lg 27" 4k monitor at 60hz when not gaming? Is the Kaby Lake processor as well as the 200 series motherboard supported, if not, what can I do, if anything to make it work? I want Kaby Lake and the 200 series motherboard because I believe that the it supports intel optane which would make it more future proof.

I have included the list of parts with the Australia prices below:

(1) GTX950 supports 4K resolution. It should work (at least in Windows, not sure in MacOS). But as there is no native support for it in MacOS you will need to refer to instructions here :

(2) There is no native support for Kaby Lake since no current Macs use Kaby Lake hardware. You can attempt to install MacOS Sierra on a Kaby Lake system but most likely it won't work correctly even if you manage to install it. I strongly suggest you don't use Kaby Lake if you want a system now. Or if you don't need it now, wait to see if Apple releases new Macs with Kaby Lake hardware in the future.

You can use KabyLake also at the moment . You need only to adjust a config file. Osx thinks than it uses an older CPU.

@SiphoMandle where did you found that a new Keyboard come in March ?
I'm not certain but there are many rumours suggesting this. Is Kaby Lake worth it for the intel optane?
