Just spend 6 hours building and trying to figure out why it wont boot. Everything runs for 6 seconds then turns off again. The monitor never turns on. Everything seems to be working. Plugged in all the correct cords to the power supply.

Can someone please guide this noob the right direction?

Here are my parts:
Case: Corsair Carbide series 300R windowed edition
Processor: intel core i7-6700k
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA z170x-ud3
Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 1060 ACX3.0
Water cooler: Corsair H100i v2
RAM: Ballistix 16gb DDR4-2400
Power: Corsair RM750x (it was on sale)
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200rpm SATA 32 MB cache

Reduce to minimum configuration, for now you just want to POST.
Remove the graphics card and connect the monitor to the onboard graphics.
Disconnect the hard drive.
One stick of RAM - Check the manual for the correct slot for a single DIMM.

At this stage I would guess that the CPU is not getting cooled so there is a thermal shutdown but it is a bit early to say.

Thanks Pilgrim. Now I'm stuck at the apple logo. It won't install and just freeze there.

You have to boot in verbose mode to capture anything useful for diagnosis of the problem.
