Ive been looking for a PowerMac G5 Case for almost 5 Years now, but the price on ebay always scared me off, so i turned to retail Casemods (and also school and work). I started Filmschool in April 2013 where they had a whole buttload of old G5's still in use but rarely beeing used since theyre all from late 2004 and therefore rather slow. I had my luck when one of them died and i could get the Computer with Hardware for 25€ yay!
I originally found this forum looking for ATX conversion builds ( i didnt want and couldnt afford conversion kits) and found lots of useful tips and inspiration here! The Case was mostly build with leftovers from other mods i did, so in total i spend around 80€ total on the case and the mods.

The PC is mostly used for Video Editing and of course Video Games like Battlefield 4!

Hardware:

Asus P6T-SE
Intel Core i7 920 € 3.7 Ghz
24gb DDR3 Ram @ 1473 Mhz
NVIDIA GTX 680 (o.c.)
NVIDIA GTX 580
MegaRAID SAS 9280 HW Raidcontroller
2 TB HDD RAID 0
128 GB SSD for OS
128 GB SSD for Video Cache Files
4x USB 3.0 Card
SlimLine Slot in DVD Burner
1600W Power Supply
CPU & GPUs are watercooled with external Radiators (1x 4x120mm + 1x 3x 120mm)

on with the pictures!

Overall im VERY happy in how this turned out, the PC is extremely silent while remaining cool even when rendering / gaming for hours :)

Nice case! And very good job with the motherboard panel..
It would look very badass if you put some kind of cover to the top "shelf", so it would hide those ugly wires and maybe add your own logo there if you have one.

I was going to make a G5 Mod, but every seller has backed out when we have agreed on everything. I say "i'm very much willing to buy and pay the shipment" blah blah blah.. and then comes this silence. "ok, im not selling this after all". 3 times this has happend to me already

Check Powerbookmedic.com and search for Power Mac G5 Enclosure for A1047. They're out of stock at the moment but they frequently have nice 2003/2004 cases that include the hard drive sled and power button assembly. Their price with shipping is very reasonable. I've bought two cases from them for my Hackintoshes and couldn't be more pleased.
