Hi All. So I have the Asus B560-F Gaming Wifi mother board with an i7 11700K cpu, currently I cannot get the IGPU working( it boots but only gets 31mb under graphics). I gave up trying to get this part working and am using a Nvidia GeoForce GT710 which works and boots properly but no HEVC or H264 shows in Videoproc so I changed the card to an AMD AX7870. Now with this card I can watch HEVC but videoproc shows no H264 and HEVC (Not sure why because it plays). I just need to get this working properly or should I spend some more money and get a Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 8G that is saw for around $500NZD used. Oh yeah the only way I could get it to play HEVC was bu changing my Simbios to iMac Pro 1.1, any other ones that I try will not play HEVC and the AMD AX7870 fans runs at constant high speeds.

How have you got your PowerColor HD 7870 (AX7870) dGPU configured? As VideoProc should at least identify your Graphics card.

I have an old AMD system that uses a pair of HD7870's and VideoProc identifies the card. It gives the same screen image as you get, with the H264 'Status' Unavailable. So it may not be an issue with your graphics card. Below I have attached a few screenshots showing VideoPro Settings for the system using the HD7870's.

All I use for my HD7870's to work in macOS is WhateverGreen.kext. No patches, fixes or extra settings required.

I have the system running macOS Catalina 10.15.7 with the latest security update. I don't see the point in taking this system to Big Sur, as there are no benefits other than a longer period of Security updates. Whereas your new 11th series system needs to run Big Sur to work correctly.

However, you may have more success with your system if you change the SMBIOS from iMacPro1,1 to MacPro7,1 as that would provide a closer match to your CPU.

Thanks, I managed to get it to show in VideoProc now. Whenever i enable the AX7870 in Device Properties it does not show up properly but have since removed that. If i change SMBIOS to 7.1 then i cannot play H265 videos, this only seems to work if i leave it on iMacPro1.1. I am actually looking at AMD Nitro+ RX580, would this be a better fit for my system?

Yes, the RX580 DGPU would be better, if you can get one for a reasonable price.
