Hi,

Total noob back after a long break. Sorry for dumb questions.

I am having issues with getting Catalina installed. With verbose mode on, I do not get any crashes/hangs, and the installation seems to proceed fine.

When the installer indicates 6 minutes remaining (about 45% of the way through), the system reboots and I am sent right back into the same cycle.

I have a rx580 sapphire installed with no configuration of any sort (I think I read that it is supported natively?).

Any thoughts? Happy to post my EFI if that would help.

EDIT: After about an hour of cycling, I got a window that said it couldn't install on my hardware, and I could run diagnostics by rebooting with f12. Seems like I must have skipped a few steps somewhere... I'll check in again tomorrow.

Looks like it is either ram, ssd, or usb stick r/w errors:

Will update if I get this working.

It was the ram. Replaced with a single stick of samsung ddr4 8gb 2400mhz did the trick. No issues at all.
