In the past we used to avoid XFX cards, right?

But now, with Navi GPUs, should we be afraid of that?

I'm considering a XFX 5600 XT THICC II Pro and I would love to rear some good news :)

Will it work?

@fravin,

The issue with XFX graphics cards has been widely overstated as in reality it only effected a very few low and mid tear Polaris based dGPU's (RX 540, 550 & 560 I think). The problem was caused by them using a non standard VBIOS which could be resolved by re-flashing the card with a reference VBIOS (usually from an equivalent Sapphire card).

All XFX graphics cards since then such as RX 580 & 590, Vega 56 & 64, Radeon VII and Navi work just fine.

Cheers
Jay

It's primarily the RX560s by XFX that won't work with macOS without reflashing the Vbios. This is one reason they are the only 560s left for sale on Amazon at a reasonable price.
