Hi I have Asus laptop G73J , I want to determine my mother board and my processor specs to know i can install mac osx also , if I can install mac os and as dual boot .

Thanks

I read it but " That said, most newer laptops are generally compatible with Mountain Lion mostly due to the fact that the base components are provided by Intel CPUs and the Intel 6-series or 7-series chipset. If your laptop has a Intel Sandy Bridge or Intel Ivy Bridge CPU using HD3000 or HD4000 graphics, chances are you can attempt to make the laptop work with OS X.

Where the difficulty comes in is with all the other hardware and variables...

General Notes:

- CPU and chipset series: You need to know what exact CPU your laptop has. If it is Sandy Bridge it will have a model designation iX-2xxx*. If it is Ivy Bridge it will have a model designation iX-3xxx*. Haswell (supported starting with 10.8.5) is iX-4xxx*. You should also note your chipset version, currently either 6-series, 7-series, or 8-series. A mixed configuration (eg. Sandy Bridge CPU on 7-series chipset) is more difficult to configure than one that isn't mixed." Quoted

I don't know how to find this specs , And can i do dual boot ?

...I don't know how to find this specs ,

There are many ways... but CPU-Z can provide the most important details...

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

And can i do dual boot ?

Yes.

I Think this is all the information that I will need .
1-Now for dualboot do I have format my hard drive or I can have the OSX next to my current win 7 ?

2- Is there a link Guide on the forum for the dual boot ?

Thanks a lot

No idea on that graphics card (I have no Radeon hardware)... You will need to do some research.

If your Win7 is installed legacy (likely), you'll have to repartition. If it is installed UEFI you can install OS X alongside using the Clover bootloader.

There are. Depends on the bootloader you're going to use though.
