I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" with 16GB of RAM which has a problem with crashes and freezes. memtest86 consistently finds memory errors between 29BA18270 and 29BA1F6C8. I've read that I might be able to use
to tell the kernel to ignore all memory after 11GB. But I'd rather not block out the last 6GB of memory.
Does the Hackintosh community know anyway to block just a small region of memory? What would be the easiest/most reliable way of doing this on Apple hardware? Would a re-install of macOS be required? (Currently running Ventura) Is the only option to get someone to solder on new memory chips?
Code:
boot-args="maxmem=11200"
