Is HD3000 Finally Working without Artifacts?

Ok, I have been fooled before, and it is early in my testing, but so far I have no artifacts or graphics issues with HD3000 graphics in Mountain Lion.

I am using:
i5-2500k which previously had artifact issues using HD3000
Macmini5,1 SMBIOS
GraphicsEnabler=yes
DSDT downloaded from database here
Audio KEXTs (ALC8xxHDA, AppleHDA Rollback, Non-DSDT HDAEnabler for ALC889)

Is anyone else seeing an improvement? I am wondering if I just haven't seen them yet, or if Mountain Lion fixed it, or perhaps the ALC KEXTs (which I didn't install previously and some indication supports that the audio and video issues might be linked, i.e. HDMI).

I was under the impression that installing the newest version of FakeSMC (which is bundled with UserDSDT and Easybeast) fixed the artifacts.

FakeSMC 4.2 helped, but didn't fix the artifacts for many people.

I got a 5450 card, which had glitches, but not as severe as the HD3000 artifacts I had.


Either ML fixed HD3000 for me, or the audio KEXTs. Or they just haven't appear yet. Fingers crossed.

Since i've installed "Fan Control" on Lion, the artifacts were gone. With ML, slight artifacts are back...

I had one rare instance of artifacts, and several hard freezes which I'm pretty sure are HD3000 related.

So, sounds like HD3000 still doesn't work correctly under ML.

I installed UEFI BIOS, which allows you to set 512MB VRAM. Still had a hard freeze which I'm almost positive was HD3000 related (while playing Youtube video, which appears to be very hard on the GPU as far as artifacts/freezes).

Turns out my hard freezes were related to using Xtreme Memory Profile 1 in BIOS. It was probably exaggerated because HD3000 uses RAM as VRAM. But still happened using GT640 graphics card and also when running Rember or Prime95 in a RAM intensive mode. Turned off XMP Profile 1 in BIOS and freezes went away.


So, again premature, but I think HD3000 might now work without freezes or artifacts with:
Mountain Lion
i5-2500k
Macmini5,1 SMBIOS
GraphicsEnabler=yes
UEFI BIOS
No DSDT
ALC889 audio patch in Multibeast

i wse suffering from the same proplem but i managed to fix it
then my n5110 hd 3000 became supper giant ,supper fast!!! no artificts or freezing !!!!
now i can unville the power off my mac
the proplem in the lcd .just adjust the parameters!!

can you please explain in detail? I too have in my dell cps
