comcast. the ping should be as low as possible right?

Ya its always better to have a low ping.

its just whenever im downloading something the speed gets cuts in half

Of course it'll get cut in half,
most sites do not support such high speeds..
Maybe you'll get high speeds in t*****ts..
Or Apple servers, or so..

When you are downloading stuff theres less bandwidth available. Even if its half its still 3x better then my speeds.
