You have the AAPL-ig-platform-id set to E39B0007. So why are you using E3980003 as a fake ID for the natively supported UHD 630 IGPU?

Remove the device-id entry highlighted below, rom the IGPU's Device Properties section in your config.plist.

Just to clarify:
  • E3980003 should be used when a Headless/Empty framebuffer is required, i.e. when a discrete GPU is present.
  • E39B0007 should be used when the IGPU is used to drive a display on a Coffee Lake system.
  • The UHD630 IGPU works natively in macOS, it doesn't need to be faked!

Hi there
I did remove device-id but still stuck without 4k
these are boot-args keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 -v alcid=1 -igfxfw=2 -igfxblr
motherboard has only one HDMI

Your motherboard has a single HDMI Display-Out connector, so I assume you are using a HDMI to HDMI cable to connect the system to the display. Is that correct?

Is the HDMI cable capable of providing the 4k resolution?

I assume the display is capable of providing the 4K resolution.

Did you take the IGPU DeviceProperties from the General Framebuffer Patching Guide, i.e. the settings for the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite (which has the same single HDMI v1.4 connector as your board)?

If yes, why have you added these entries:
  • Force-Online
  • RPS-Control
  • HDA-GFX
  • Enable-HDMI20
  • Enable-Metal
The settings for the HDMI v1.4 connector should work at 4K without these additional entries. Try removing the entries listed above and see if that makes any difference.

The screenshot above contains an entry for the device-id, <923E0000> if you add this to your setup it will not mess up the framebuffer like the previous device-id entry you were using did.

You might also want to see if removing the 2 x boot arguments, -igfxfw=2 and -igfxblr makes any difference.

I would have through the Backlight fix was aimed more at laptop users than desktop users. As neither of these boot arguments are related to setting 4K resolution.

Hi there
motherboard and display tested with same or I did swap HDMI to make sure everything works on window system with 4k resolution yes I did use General Framebuffer patch guide , after using Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite patch unfortunately nothing change with or without device-id (remove all suggested entries)
Found one EFI matching with my motherboard Z390-D and 4k somehow is working but quite laggy and lost wake up screen ,sleep works restart working but wake up unplug HDMI and plug back then screen works
