I've managed to install El Capitan 10.11.4. Everything is pretty glitchy and laggy, I think it's because it only detects 7mb of my Intel HD Graphics 4600. What can I do to fix this? Also, is there a way to use gtx 960m 2gb?

I'm using a laptop acer aspire v nitro 17

Intel® Core™ i7-4720HQ processor Quad-core 2.60 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 2gb
Intel HD Graphics 4600
16gb RAM

To use the GTX 960, first you have to install the NVIDIA web drivers. To fix the HD4609 issue, you need to inject the correct device ID.

I fixed the HD 4600 issue and I have downloaded and installed the alternative NVIDIA web drivers but the OS X Default Graphics Driver is always selected. Also, it's 960m(mobile) not the desktop 960 so I'm not entirely sure if it's possible.

If the default OS X driver is selected after choosing it and then rebooting then it means your board is not storing the NVRAM properly or you do not have virtual NVRAM setup. Add the boot argument nvda_drv=1 to your Clover config.plist. If you have that boot argument in your plist then whatever it says in the Nvidia Driver Manager is just cosmetic. You can use this command to verify that the drivers loaded end in "Web":

kextstat | grep nv

How do you fix the HD 4600 glitch?

I am still having graphics problems with my basic HD 4600 system: many GPU restarts, logouts and artefacts.
Despite a few weeks now of searching and trying this-and-that , no progress.
RehabMan, can you tell me what is wrong with my system ?

OSX: El Capitan 10.11.5
Mobo: GA H97N-Wifi
CPU: I3-4330 with HD4600
SSD & Mem: Samsung 850 EVI & 2X4Gb of Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz.

I have installed the EFI using Multibeast 8.2.2 . and did a post installation of FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext using KextBeast.

The system recognizes the Intel HD graphics with full memory (1536MB):
VRAM (Dynamic, Max):1536 MB
Vendor:Intel (0x8086)
Device ID:0x0412
Revision ID:0x0006

The only flags perhaps raisable are: that FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext does not show
up in the loaded kext
list (i.e. kextstat | grep -i fake only shows org.netkas.driver.FakeSMC,
and rehabmans FakePCCID and FakePCIID.XHCIMux. I also took the latest FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext available and maybe that bites with the Fake kexts from Multibeast 8.2.2.

Attached are the clover dir, ioreg dump and the kextcache output.

Assuming the display is connected via DP, the ioreg and Clover look fine...

You should check your BIOS options that pertain to the IGPU.

Note: Power management (CPU and IGPU) are not implemented...

It is actually connected to DVI.
Would that make a difference in the debug analysis or result ?

Damn those GPU hangs ... it always reports in the System Log that
it is "is hung in the ring <-- ROOT CAUSE!"
I hope this is not a hardware problem. Could adding a separate graphics card
to the system circumvent this issue ?

Thanks, T.

Do you have correct BIOS settings for the IGPU?
