Intel HD 4000 graphics

Hi i'm new here and I was wondering if there is a way to get a higher resolution out of the ivy bridge CPU in Lion. I didn't get a graphics card for the system yet and wanted to use the CPU's graphics for now until I know which card to get, but I only have a 1024x768 resolution option. I'm running Gigabyte GA-Z77x-UD5H and an Intel i7 3770k, thanks in advance.

HD 4000 doesn't work with Mac OS X yet. You'll have to buy a separate graphics card. You can probably buy a cheap supported graphics card for like $40. Check out the graphics section of tonymacx86's Customac post for a list of supported cards.

Hi Madspar,

I have my IvyBridge with integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics driving my Dell 3008 at 2560x1600x32

Put this (or something similar) in the org.chameleon.Boot.plist file in the /extra folder.

<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>2560x1600x32</string>

and reboot and away you go.

You can't dynamically switch resolutions or support more than one monitor but its a lot better than 1024x768.


Its not the fasting thing in the world either but is ok for most things where high graphic performance is not required.

Hi to all....its possible to get QE/CI already with intelhd4000 on mac os x 10.7.5 and 10.8 .... i n s a n e l y m a c
